“It is forbidden not to touch”: a project that allows children with sight disabilities to touch objects in National Historical Museum.

A third group of students from “Ramazan Kabashi” Institute, provided with gloves by the Museum’s staff, could affect the original objects the Museum’s premises. This was achieved with the assistance of the Management Collections department at the National Historical Museum. The objects were insured, fixed and secured for any possible damage. This event marks a successful collaboration between National Historical Museum and “Ramazan Kabashi” Institute. The director Labi gave his support and continuous insistence in well organizing this event.

Children with disabilities were able to experience the world view through their hands. At the same time, the ability to touch and feel these original objects sets a new and excellent way, to bring them closer to our ancient civilization.

Every Thursdays the National Historical Museum is dedicated to people with all kinds of disabilities. They can visit, work and learn more about our history. Our Museum is very welcoming, warm and inclusive, accessible and positive to them.
