The Albanian territory is a pleasant surprise to all scholars, because you can find all kinds of cultures in this land. At “Kostandin Shpataraku” hall in our Museum, Mr. Koçi (Director of this institution), with the qualification of a historian, held an open lecture for students attending the Summer School of Language, History and Byzantine Civilization. Two Greek professors, Agamnenon Tsalikas and Constantine Jakumis, were also present in his referral. Mr. Jakumis also made an explanation for the students in the Pavilion of Iconography. In his speech, Mr. Koçi argued on a series of objects that are exhibited at National Historical Museum, starting with the Medieval Lintels found in Durres, Anonymous Emblems, Treasury of Kuçova, Emblem of Pricnipality of Arbër, the Inscription of Gëziqi’s and Shirgi’s church and Epitaph of Gllavenica, St. John Vladimir’s Monastery Portal, the Emblems of Topia and Skuraj family, Sword and Helmet of Gjergj Kastrioti etc.
Mr. Koçi continued that the variety of objects exhibited at National Historical Museum aims to provide a comprehensive picture of material culture, that was constituted in our territory and invites the visitor to a historic itinerary, following the chronology of the main events that took place in our territory, from Late Antiquity to the Byzantine period.
